Managing Your Subscription
Leadflip uses Stripe for billing. You manage everything subscription-related from Account Settings > Plan & Billing.
Where to find it
Sidebar > Account Settings > Plan & Billing.

What you see
Three sections on the page:
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Current Plan | Your active plan and renewal date. Shows "No active subscription" if you're on a free trial or have never subscribed. |
| Change Plan | Opens Stripe Checkout to pick a new plan or upgrade. Also accepts promo codes. |
| Refer a Friend | A unique referral link. Share it; when someone signs up through your link and completes 2 paid months, you get 1 free month (capped at 12 free months per year). |
Changing your plan
The flow is Stripe-hosted, meaning Leadflip sends you to Stripe Checkout for the actual transaction, then routes you back when it's done.
Upgrading (e.g. Starter → Growth)
- On the Plan & Billing page, click Change Plan (or Choose a plan if you're not yet subscribed).
- Stripe Checkout opens in your browser.
- Pick the new plan and billing interval (monthly or yearly).
- Confirm payment.
You're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period. The new plan takes effect immediately.
Downgrading
- Click Change Plan.
- Pick the lower plan.
- Confirm.
The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep paid-tier access until then. If your current usage exceeds the new plan's limits (lead volume, team seats, entities), you'll need to reduce usage before the cycle rolls over.
Switching billing interval (monthly ↔ yearly)
Same flow as above. Pick the same plan with a different interval. Yearly switches usually issue a prorated credit and start a new annual cycle. Monthly switches typically wait until the current yearly period ends.
Promo codes
If you have a promo code (from a partner, a referral, a launch promotion):
- On the Plan & Billing page, enter the code in the Promo Code field under "Change Plan".
- Click Validate.
- If valid, the discount is applied on your next Stripe Checkout.
Codes are case-sensitive and may have time or use-count limits. Validation errors will tell you which.
Refer a Friend
Every account has a unique referral link visible at the bottom of the Plan & Billing page. The terms:
- Anyone who signs up through your link starts a normal trial.
- If they complete 2 paid months, you get 1 free month of your current plan.
- Capped at 12 free months per year (24 successful referrals).
Click Copy link to copy the full URL to your clipboard. Share via email, Slack, social, whatever works.
Payment method
The payment method on file is managed inside the Stripe Customer Portal, not directly in Leadflip. To update your card or invoice email:
- Click Change Plan to go to Stripe Checkout, OR
- Use the customer portal link (sent to you via email with each invoice).
Stripe handles all sensitive card data. Leadflip never sees or stores raw card numbers.
Canceling
- Go to Plan & Billing.
- Use the cancel option in the Stripe Customer Portal (link in any past invoice email, or via the change-plan flow).
- Confirm.
Your subscription stays active until the end of the paid period you've already covered. After that:
- Your data stays put (we don't delete anything).
- The app drops to read-only or limited functionality, depending on the plan you came from.
- You can resubscribe anytime by clicking Change Plan and picking a tier again.
Viewing invoices
Two routes:
- Account Settings > Billing & Invoices. Stripe-hosted invoice list inside the app.
- Email. Stripe sends each invoice to the email on your account.
Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF and is marked Paid, Open, or Past Due. The invoices visible here are for your Leadflip subscription, not the partner invoices you generate inside the Distribution module. Those live in Distribution > Invoices.
Overage charges
If your plan has soft limits (lead volume, distribution count, etc.) and you exceed them, overage is billed at your plan's per-unit rate and added to the next invoice. Hard limits are different: when you hit a hard limit (for example, team seats), the relevant action is blocked instead of charged. See Plans & Pricing for which limits are which.
EU customers: VAT
If your billing address is in the EU, Stripe collects VAT at the rate of your country, displayed as a separate line on every invoice. Business customers with a valid VAT ID can enter it in Stripe Checkout to apply the reverse-charge mechanism (no VAT charged; you account for it on your end).
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause / fix |
|---|---|
| Stripe Checkout doesn't open | Pop-up blocker. Allow popups for staging.leadflip.net (or your production hostname) and try again. |
| "No active subscription" but I just paid | Stripe webhook may not have fired yet. Refresh after a minute. If it persists, contact support. |
| Wrong plan showing after upgrade | Same as above; webhook timing. If still wrong after 5 minutes, support. |
| Promo code rejected | Check spelling and casing. Codes may be expired or one-time-use. |
| Card declined | Update payment method via the Stripe Customer Portal link in your last invoice email. |
