Setting up the account

Name, time zone and language of the account, plus the tabs for modules, outgoing mail, SMS and retention. What stands here applies to everyone in the account.

Time zone and language apply to everyone

The time zone decides when "in three days" runs out and what time shows on an entry. The language applies to anyone who has not picked their own in their Profile, and retroactively at that. Anyone with their own keeps it.

The short name is in no address

The account id is what sits in the path, not the short name. That name is a handle for operations and can therefore change safely; an old bookmark carrying one redirects to the account's start page.

What else lives here

Four further tabs: Modules shows what is booked. Outgoing mail and SMS carry the accounts messages go out through. Retention decides how long data stays.

Step by step

1. Open Settings, Account, the General tab.
2. Set name, time zone and language.
3. Carry on in the other tabs: outgoing mail first, retention last.

Does the account language change my interface too?

Only if you have not picked your own in your profile. Your own language takes precedence and stays.

What is the time zone for if everyone has their own?

It is the default for anyone without one, and it decides deadlines: a trigger checking at midnight needs a time zone even when nobody is signed in.

Who may change this page?

Whoever holds the right on the account, usually the administrator role. Your own Profile is yours to keep, without that right. See Roles and rights.

Can I have several accounts?

Yes. You switch between them at the top left. Separate accounts mean separate records, separate teams and separate settings.
