Your own settings
2 min read
Name, sign-in address, language, time zone, password and the devices you are signed in on. These settings are yours, not the account's.
The display name applies per account
The same person works in several accounts, possibly under different names. That is why the display name hangs off the account: it is how you appear there in the team list and on the records you work.
Language and time zone override the account
Both may follow the account or be your own. They are separate on purpose: a German in London wants a German interface and London times.
Password and devices
Changing the password signs out every other device. Below it are the devices you are signed in on with their last activity, and Sign out everywhere else ends them in one go. Anyone signing in through Google has no password and sets one through Forgot password if they need it.
No rights check, and that is the point
The profile needs no right, only membership of the account. Until 2026-09-18 it hung off the right on the account, and only the administrator role carries that: no agent could reach their own settings.
Step by step
- Click your own name at the top left, then Profile.
- On the Settings tab, set display name, language and time zone.
- Under Notifications, decide what you are told about.
- Under Security, change the password or sign out other devices.
Can I change my sign-in address?
Not in the interface at present. A new address has to be confirmed, or a typo would leave the account belonging to someone else or to nobody.
Why do I have different names in two accounts?
Because the display name belongs to the account. That is deliberate: anyone working for two firms appears differently in each.
What is a signature block?
The block of text under your messages. There is one for the account and one of your own; yours takes precedence.
I cannot see the mail tab.
It is open to anyone in the account. If it is missing, the page has probably not finished loading; it has nothing to do with rights.
