Connect your calendar
3 min read
Once you connect your Google Calendar, its events count when guests book, and new appointments from this account can be written straight into it. The connection applies to this account only.
Connecting
Under “My hours” in your profile, “My calendars” sits at the top. Sign in with Google there and give consent. The calendar then appears in the list with its address.
What is read
Only when you are busy. The platform does not see titles, places or attendees of your events. Where you are busy, the booking page won't offer you.
Adding appointments
If you tick “Also add appointments to this calendar”, new appointments appear directly in your calendar, with the guest's name, email and phone and a link to the record. The invitation email to you is then skipped. Rescheduling, cancelling and handing over update the entry. Appointments go into one calendar at most.
When the connection fails
If the calendar doesn't respond, the booking page won't offer you until it does. No offer is better than a double booking. The list then shows “Failing”. If an appointment can't be added, you get it by email with an invitation.
Disconnecting
“Disconnect” removes your upcoming appointments from the calendar, returns the permission to Google and deletes the connection. You then get your upcoming appointments by email with an invitation so they stay in your calendar.
Without a connection: the calendar as a subscription
If your calendar cannot be connected, or the invitations do not arrive by email, use the subscription. Under My hours you create an address and add it in Outlook, Apple Calendar or Google Calendar under "Subscribe to calendar". It holds your appointments as host, 30 days back to 180 days ahead, and cancelled ones disappear on the next fetch. The app reloads the subscription at intervals, Google less often than Outlook and Apple, so a newly booked appointment does not show up right away. You only see the address when you create it. A new one makes the old one invalid, and when someone leaves the account, their subscription ends at once. If you already receive the invitations by email, each appointment appears twice.
Step by step
- Open the “My hours” tab in your profile.
- Decide whether appointments should be added too, and choose “Connect Google”.
- Sign in with Google and give consent. You land back on “My hours”.
I gave consent, but it says “Reads busy times”.
Google lets you deselect individual permissions. If you deselected adding events, the calendar is only read. Disconnect it and connect again to change that.
Can I connect more than one calendar?
Yes. All of them are read, appointments go into one. If you choose adding for a second one, the first is only read from then on.
What happens when I leave the account?
The connection is deleted with your membership. No credentials are left behind.
Is there Microsoft or Apple?
Not yet. Until then appointments arrive by email with an invitation, which works with any calendar.
