Trigger: Appointment booked

1 min read

Starts as soon as an appointment is added to a record. A typical follow-up is a stage change, for instance to "Appointment set".

Step by step

  1. Create an automation and choose "Appointment booked" as its trigger.
  2. Add the steps, for example "Change stage", and switch it on.

Does it fire when an appointment moves?

No. That is "Appointment moved". A moved appointment is not a newly agreed one, even though technically a new one is created.

Can I refer to the appointment in a text?

Yes, through '{{ appointment.date }}', '{{ appointment.time }}', '{{ appointment.host_name }}' and '{{ appointment.location }}'. It means the appointment that started the run.

Does it fire for an appointment in the past?

Yes. An appointment entered afterwards was still agreed. If you do not want that, check the status or the date in a filter.

Do I have to email the guest myself?

No. The module sends the confirmation with the invitation itself, through the account's outgoing mailbox. An email from the automation would be a second one.
