Step: Assign to host

Makes the person who runs an appointment the assignee of the record. Meant for invitations to several people: there, the time the guest picks decides who gets the appointment, and the record should sit with the same person.

Step by step

  1. Create an automation with the trigger “Appointment booked”.
  2. Add the step “Assign to host”. There is nothing to configure.
  3. Put any steps that send mail in the assignee's name after it.

Which appointment does it use?

The appointment that triggered the run. If the step hangs off another trigger, such as “Stage entered”, the record's next open appointment.

What if the record has no appointment?

The step fails and the run stops. It then shows up under “Stuck” so someone takes a look.

What if the host has left the account or is deactivated?

The step fails rather than handing the record to someone who cannot see it.

When don't I need it?

When only one person is invited, or the assignee is already set before the invitation. Booking prefers the assignee if they are free at the chosen time.
