Change stage

Moves the record along the pipeline — by the same route as dragging a card by hand. A case then moves on by itself once it is settled that it belongs further along.

Step by step

1. In the flow, choose the plus and take Change stage.
2. Under Target stage set the destination: a fixed stage, One forward or One back.
3. Save.
4. Check which automations hang on the target stage — they will run afterwards as well.

Do the automations of the target stage fire?

Yes. Time in stage, history, the change log and any following automations arise exactly as they do when dragging by hand. Two automations pushing each other on go round in circles.

What is the difference between One forward and a fixed stage?

One forward survives a rebuild of the pipeline; a fixed stage does not. If the order may still change, the relative setting serves better.

What if the target stage no longer exists?

The step fails and the run halts. Carrying on would produce runs that only appeared to succeed.

What does One forward do at the last stage?

There is no destination left, and the step reports that. Which is why such an automation is not usually placed on the last stage.

Does time in stage restart after the change?

Yes. The trigger Sitting too long in stage counts from entering the new stage.
