Form submitted

1 min read

Starts as soon as someone submits a form and a record comes out of it. It fires in addition to “Record created” and answers a different question: which form the enquiry came from.

Step by step

  1. Create an automation and pick “Form submitted” as the trigger.
  2. Choose a form under “Form”. Leave it empty and the automation applies to every form of this entity.
  3. Set the steps and switch it on.
  4. Submit the form once and look at the run in the log.

Why this trigger when “Record created” exists?

Because that one does not say where the record came from. Reacting to one particular form would otherwise need a filter, and the origin is in no field.

Does it run even if the form already sends an email itself?

Yes, and afterwards. The form's own outputs run in the same call so the confirmation goes out at once; the automation follows.

What happens on a rejected submission?

Nothing. A bot in the trap field, a submission that was too fast, an origin that is not allowed: no record is created, so no trigger fires.

And if the forms module is given back?

The published form keeps accepting, and the trigger keeps firing. The automation only needs the automation helper, and that comes with the CRM.

Can I listen to several forms at once?

Yes, by leaving the form empty. Then the automation applies to every form of this entity. For single forms, create one each.
