Goodwill requests

1 min read

Once the return deadline has passed, a partner can no longer return a record themselves: they can only ask. Those requests sit above the delivery list, together with whatever they wrote.

After the deadline only the question is left

Within the return deadline a partner returns a record themselves. Afterwards they can only ask, and you decide. That is the difference between a right and a request, and the interface says so too.

They sit above the delivery list

An open request is not something anyone should have to search for. It therefore sits above the rows, with whatever the partner wrote about it.

Approve or decline

Approving cancels the delivery like a return within the deadline, with a credit note if it had already been billed. Declining leaves everything as it is, and the partner sees the decision in the portal.

What happens when I approve?

The same as with a return within the deadline: the delivery is cancelled and the line disappears from the invoice: without a trace before the cut-off date, as a correcting invoice after it. The only difference is that a person agreed to it.

And when I decline?

The delivery stays as it is, and so does the invoice. The request is settled and leaves the list; in the portal the partner sees that a decision was made.

Can a partner ask twice for the same record?

No. While a request is open there is no second one, and after a decision the matter is closed.

Where do I see why they are asking?

Right in the row: whatever they wrote in the portal sits next to the date. If it is empty they wrote nothing: then a phone call helps more than the list.
